"Do onto others as you'd have them do to you". I got these lyrics from the song I Go Through by O.A.R. I absolutely agree with that saying. This is what this sentence means to me. If you want to be respected, respect them if you want people to be kind to you, be kind to them. It even means to also still do onto others as you'd have them do onto you even when they have not been so polite or kind to you. Look at it this way if you were being rude to someone would you want the rude energy to be sent right back to you? I know I don't. I catch myself before I start being rude to people. I step back and realize "Well that comment is kind of mean, I don't really want to say that." I think when you realize these things without someone saying anything to you, it shows a lot of honesty and self-growth. You have to be the change that you want to see a lyric from the song Change by DurtE. It makes perfect sense to always do onto others as you'd have them do to you even when you make mistakes. By doing this I think it is a way of showing this universe that you are being the change that you want to see in this world.
